Podcasts in my Classroom

3 ideas for using podcasts to evaluate my students' learning:

• Students would record a narrative instead of turning in a boring paper copy to class.
• Students would record feedback about the day's lesson including a "light-bulb" moment and a muddy point.
• Students could make book reviews of outside reading for other students to listen to and determine if they want to read that book.

Idea for a podcast series:
Readings from the important parts of the books we're reading in class including questions to answer and turn in.

5 Animoto Uses in an English Classroom

• A movie with photos of themes from the current text.
• Every student can use it to introduce themselves using a favorite (appropriate) song and pictures from their summer break at the beginning of the year because it's free and simple.
• Students can use it to summarize a specific section of text. 
• Can post out-loud readings of the text that was read in class or read for homework.
• Can make a "trailer" for the upcoming unit.
